Holger Dziallas grew up in the countryside and spent most of his childhood outdoors. “I never understood why society was not able to live in harmony with nature, and always wanted to participate in changing this. But of course you can never foresee how big your impact will be.”
Holger is the first Umicore participant in the WBCSD’s Young Managers Team (YMT). He is honored by his selection, and hopes that the YMT will help him reconcile his personal respect for nature with his professional life. “I always try to act as a good example regarding use of resources and ‘clean behavior’.”
The YMT, which has existed since the 2002 World Summit in Johannesburg, brings together a variety of people from different companies, all with unique backgrounds and expertise. The common thread is a commitment to sustainable development.
