UKSIF launches project to highlight pension fund leaders

A two year programme aimed at promoting sustainable and responsible investment among pension funds has been launched by the UK Social Investment Forum (UKSIF).

During 2006 UKSIF will contact the pension funds of some 300 UK-listed companies and ask them what part environmental and social principles play in their investment.

The programme will then report leadership examples among funds as well as encouraging local government funds to support the government’s commitment to socially responsible investment. It is hoping that companies which are showing leadership in corporate social responsibility will link this with considering environmental and social issues in their pension fund investments.
