Legal Blogs Chinese anti-corruption moves
In a fit of (perhaps unexpected) candour, the China Daily (owned by the Communist Party of China) reports a survey of Chinese citizens in which 94% of respondents believed that bribery of officials by businesspeople was commonplace. The Chinese Government has often embarked on anti-bribery campaigns and this may signal another such. Foreign companies are often the targets of anti-bribery "crackdowns" all over the world, so compliance and prevention should be prioritised even when doing business in corruption-prone environments.
