What this survey, unpublished until now, reveals is:
• Women represent less than 10% of members of Executive Committees and Boards of Directors
• There are twice as many in North America (USA & Canada) than in Europe and eight times more than in Asia
• Each American company in our sample has at least one female in their governing body
• 18 European companies and 66 Asian companies do not have any
• A European specificity : Women « control » more than they « manage »
• European directors have mainly furthered their education at reputed business /engineering schools, obtaining the equivalent of a Masters degree, whereas the majority of their American counterparts have a Bachelor’s degree
