Women´s responsibility in improving society: a new dimension
The Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society opened this morning in Deauville, France. The second edition of the Women’s Forum brings together 800 participants, men and women from 61 countries, for three days of intensive networking. The programme includes 130 speakers from 30 countries.
In her opening remarks, Aude Zieseniss de Thuin, Founder and President of the Women’s Forum, stressed the importance of building the future with women’s vision, of sharing and building relationships, and her belief in the complementarity between men and women. “Ours is a global forum. We are convinced that women are well-placed to confront today’s highly complex issues. Since our Forum last year, women have been elected to lead Chile, Finland, Germany and Liberia. Multinationals have appointed women to chair their companies.
Women are taking on increasing responsibility in politics and in the economy. All this shows quite simply that the world is becoming a more pragmatic place,” she said.
