Regulators and companies fight legislative creep



Like many in the City of London, Angela Knight has nothing but praise for the Sarbanes-Oxley laws that have helped drive stock market listings from New York to the British capital.

In fact, Ms Knight, chief executive of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers, thinks the City should show its appreciation by erecting a statue of Mr Paul Sarbanes and Mr Michael Oxley - the two US lawmakers who co-authored "Sarbox" legislation - to "thank them for all their efforts on our behalf".
