Sarbanes-Oxley workplace claims limited


On many prior occasions, we have noted that litigation in the workplace is rapidly increasing. There appears to be several possible reasons for the increase. Generally, we have become a much more litigious society. Even the most apparently minor slights seem to lead to lawsuits being filed.

It is also true that the economy is rapidly changing, and this affects the employer/ employee dynamic. The days of an employee working for the same employer all of her work life are gone. To the contrary, most employees expect to change jobs several times during their careers.

Similarly, employer loyalty to the employees has waned. Downsizing and outsourcing have eliminated numerous jobs. For some employees, a lawsuit against the employer is not merely easy -- it is justified.
