
The continental european approach, finding a way for the government to interfere!
What the German government should do is free up the rights of shareholders to run their companies and stop meddling in the internal affais of companies.
While I agree with the idea that CEO´s should NOT step up to be chairman, which is the standard in many countries, including Germany, government intervention is not the way to go.
Shareholders should impose their will on their companies.

Berlin is considering restrictions on outgoing chief executives becoming non-executive directors in a response to scandals at Volkswagen and Siemens that have revealed entrenched conflicts of interest in German boardrooms.
