
Given BP´s continuous safety and environmental problems in the U.S., I am surprised that it has taken so long for civil action to surface.
A good way to keep companies on their toes which, as BP has shown, is sorely necessary for some companies.
Should be relatively easy to prove!

UK energy firm BP said that US regulators have recommended it face civil action for its alleged role in manipulation of the petrol market.
BP's problems date back to October 2002, when it is alleged the firm made improper trades in gasoline futures.
It was revealed in August that the US Commodity Futures Trade Commission (CFTC) was probing a number of trades.
BP, which has also faced a number of other trading allegations, denied the claims and said it acted properly.
