
Nine women executives discuss their rise to the top and life as a female power broker
Despite equality rights in the Canadian Charter and pay equity rights in several pieces of legislation, despite forward-thinking corporate policies promoting gender equality, despite the rising number of women attending university as compared to men, and even despite the talents, brains, flexibility and know-how of professional women in general, women and men have a long way to go before equalizing gender imbalance in the executive workforce.
What is clear, though, is that women are not backing down. As the following female executive profiles demonstrate, many women have reached above and beyond any barrier, real or imagined, and broken into that roomful of men.
