* Four companies in the survey are newly quoted since last year
* Nine companies in the survey have been acquired since last year
* There is a slight increase in chairmen counted as full-time
* 97 per cent now pay more than £30,000 basic fee
* Average basic non executive fee is £46,100
* 69.3 per cent of companies have at least one woman non-executive
* The trend towards fewer meetings has halted
* 99 per cent pay additional fees to committee chairmen, up from 83 per cent
* Almost three quarters of companies carry out board evaluations internally
