The search for better governance has become the target of almost all modern and advanced states of our day. At the start of the 21st century, depending on the conditions of each and every country and the effects forced upon by the shrinking world, this search has become even stronger.

New concepts like international cooperation and globalization are compelling the search for methods that go beyond the accustomed stereotypes.

We, today, are at the heart of everything that's happening in the world. We are after both finding a better method of governance that would fit best to the needs of the age and cooperation, to the well-being and happiness of our people while at the same time undertaking the requirements of this.

All empires were liquidated in the 20th century. Towards the end of the century, ideological discussions that were shaping the regimes came to an end also. The Turkish Republic is a modern state that was born as a result of the liquidation of the Ottoman empire. It was not a modern state only at the foundation stage, but has successfully maintained that peculiarity all through the past 78 years.

The Turkish Republic, the masterpiece of Great Ataturk, a great law revolutionary, is the most successful social and political transformation project of the 20th century. The spread of the "nation state" concept has affected us also.
