The Women and Equality Unit is working to bring about measurable improvements in the position of women, and to promote equality more generally.
The Ministers for Women, supported by the Women and Equality Unit (WEU), are responsible for promoting and ensuring that work on equality across Government is co-ordinated.
We aim to reduce and remove some of the barriers that currently face underrepresented groups - in particular, the needs of black and minority ethnic women. Improve the legislative and institutional frameworks for equality and support economic opportunities for women.
