
Highly-educated women are twice as likely to end up in low-paid jobs than a decade ago, a report said yesterday.
Nearly one in eight female graduates, compared to 5.4% in the mid-Nineties, are employed as receptionists or nursery nurses rather than in professional or management roles.
The report found 17% were employed as secretaries, 11% as sales assistants and 5% in 'elementary' jobs, such as traffic wardens or road sweepers.
Another 5% were working in 'personal service', including hairdressing and childcare.
