This report presents a summary of current governance practices in place at large U.S. public companies, based on data available from The Corporate Library’s Corporate Benchmarker subscription research product. In this report we examine various governance practices at the 475 S&P 500 companies that filed a proxy statement between July 1, 2006 and June 1, 2007. The final 2007 Governance Practices report will include data for a full 12-month period. An analysis of the reasons for the late filing of the remaining 25 companies in the index will be the subject of a forthcoming study published by The Corporate Library.
