Corporate governance in Europe - Raising the bar - 2007 report

Eight years ago when we first launched this report, we set out to create a meaningful framework for ongoing comparison of European Boards: how they were made up, what they typically offered by way of remuneration and how often they met, as typical examples.

Compliance has become a fact of life now for the Boards of most organisations. Emphasis has shifted towards performance, as greater transparency poses questions about the contribution of Board members.
This fifth edition of the biennial Heidrick & Struggles corporate governance report provides a uniquely comprehensive overview of European Boards. As well as offering perspective and context for compliance, it has been extended to cover Board evaluation in greater depth to help assess performance.

We are enormously proud of the reputation that this publication has built, and the anticipation that surrounds each new edition. We have stayed true to the objectivity and consistent methodology of the first report to ensure that the series is a useful reference for anyone tracking corporate governance practices in Europe.
