Gore Calls For 'Greener Business'

Al Gore, former US vice president, has urged the business community to be part of the solution to the global warming challenge.

He said at a business forum in Singapore on Tuesday that consumers are becoming aware of the damage caused by global warming and a growing number of them want businesses to take action to help address the problem.

Gore said: "There is a growing demand around the world from the part of customers and shareholders and stakeholders of all kinds for business to become a positive force for needed and desired change in the world."

"If you are looking at a global venue for your business, then there is no challenge in the global category that is anywhere nearly as important and will be as important to people as the sustainability challenge," he said in a speech at the Global Brand Forum.
