WHEN Thomas was hired as a manager at a public relations firm, speculation spread amongst his new colleagues the main reason he got the job was because their female boss had a crush on him.

Indeed, after she interviewed him for the role the boss gushed to her staff about Thomas’s good looks and said she was thrilled to finally have a straight man working in the office.

As soon as he started work Thomas appeared to set about building a rapport with the boss by regularly enquiring after her kids and asking what she did on the weekend.

He started having long private chats in her office, then they began exchanging gossipy emails and before long they were SMSing each other after hours.
