Business greener in NZ than Australia


New Zealand businesses are almost five times "greener" than their Australian counterparts, with a new white paper finding over half of Australian businesses have no policy to reduce energy use.

Meeting the Corporate Energy Challenge: Are Companies Walking the Talk on Energy Efficiency? found that 36 per cent of New Zealand companies have had an energy policy in place for more than six years, compared to only 7.5 per cent of Australian companies.

It also found that 54 per cent of Australian businesses surveyed did not have an energy policy.

The white paper, completed by Proudfoot Consulting, draws on responses from a sample of 102 companies.
