No time for non-executives


The UK's main accounting body is pushing for changes to corporate governance rules after finding that most small business owners have little interest in forming boards and believe that non-executive directors would constrain them.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants commissioned the study by Colin Coulson-Thomas of Lincoln University, which found that few small businesses had working boards and non-executive directors were usually relatives.
