The Talent Wars Get Tougher - New Players, New Needs, New Tactics


This newsletter keeps talking about talent wars. And there's a very good reason for that. They are here. They are not going away and, from the conversations we are having with clients all over the globe, they are set to get a lot worse. Yes, believe us, hiring and holding onto talent ­
of all kinds ­ is just going to get that much harder.

You might be forgiven for thinking that with certain industry sectors looking distinctly wobbly (financial services comes quickly to mind), there will be enough spare talent swimming around sinking ships to solve immediate shortages. Not so. Our discussions indicate that late 2007 and, most importantly, early 2008 will see an even greater squeeze on all types of talent.
