Shareholder activism is fairly mainstream when it comes to globalized economies or developed world. But what about India?
Excerpts from an interview with CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan:
Q: You write about a lot of this stuff, we have seen shareholder activism being fairly maintstream abroad in international markets in fact the former CEO of Deutsche Borse has actually written a book about the invasion of locusts as he called it. But in India it really has not taken off, why do you think that is the case?
Dalal: Absolutely, it has not taken off because there are not enough of investor associations that are operating in the country. I am part of some investors associations and consumer groups and I can say very honestly that we have not been able to deliver results to investors.
