
The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is cautioning its members to be aware of community expectations when setting management wages in the wake of the Pacific Brands row.
But the ACCI says any form of Government intervention on executive salaries is unworkable, even if public money is being used by those companies.
Pacific Brands, which owns businesses including Bonds and King Gee, this week announced it would cut more than 1,800 jobs because of the global downturn.
