The number of equal pay claims lodged by female workers has fallen sharply since the recession took hold, suggesting that fears of an equality “time-bomb” may have been overblown.
Figures obtained by the Financial Times reveal that just under 42,500 equal pay cases were accepted by employment tribunals in the 11 months between April 2008 and February 2009.
