In 2007, European Union social partners entered into an agreement regarding preventing harassment and violence in the workplace. As the result of that agreement, the Confederation of British Industry, the Trade Union Congress and the Partnership of Public Employers have recently issued new joint guidance on this issue.
1) raise awareness and increase understanding amongst employers, workers and workers’ representatives of workplace harassment and violence both between workers and from external third parties and
2) to provide a framework of response to identify, prevent and manage problems of harassment and all forms of violence at work.
