Airlines Fret as Emission Rules in Europe Are Set to Kick In


Aircraft like the Solar Impulse are on the cutting edge of technologies aimed at curbing the amount of greenhouse gases that come from flying.

One of the most striking aspects of the experimental airplane is its vast wingspan, which makes it look like a giant insect. But the wingspan provides a huge surface area that can be studded with nearly 12,000 solar cells.
