Bank ups ante on women in top jobs


THE days of bank boardrooms being the domain of suits and ties could soon be at an end, with Westpac announcing plans to boost dramatically the number of women in management roles.

The chief executive of Westpac, Gail Kelly, revealed yesterday that the bank had put in place gender targets that in the next four years would double to 40 per cent the proportion of women in its upper echelons.
