Agusan del Norte is now among the few provinces in the Philippines well-equipped for Climate Information Monitoring and Early Warning. Three (3) new Automatic Weather Stations were installed by the Department of Science of Technology-Caraga Regional Office mid-March 2011 in the Municipalities of Buenavista, Jabonga and Las Nieves under its collaboration with the International Labour Organization and the Office of Civil Defense-Caraga re Establishment of Early Warning Systems in the priority municipalities of the MDGF 1656 Outcome 3.4 Climate Change Adaptation Demonstration Project (CCAP).

Another AWS was installed early this month by DOST-PAGASA in the remaining CCAP priority municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez. With these AWSs are 15 rain gauges, 11 water level/tide gauges again installed by DOST-Caraga and 10 Flood Warning Signages installed by OCD-Caraga.
