Business - a force for good


The UK has just entered that wonderful period of pre- election hype, a feeding frenzy for the media, but for a large majority of the population a period that cannot pass quickly enough.

As in many parts of the world, the roles of business and the public sector are in focus, but with the added spice of electioneering and party politics. What many in politics from all sides of the political divide tend to forget is that without wealth creation there is no funding for schools, hospitals, defence and our social welfare system.

So it should be worrying to all of us when business has a tarnished reputation and when it is seen to be fair game in the knockabout of election politics. But some would argue that business has brought itself into the firing line by its actions and behaviours.
