Regulator accuses Deloitte over MG Rover

A six-year-old probe into the role of accountants in the MG Rover saga yielded formal disciplinary complaints against the UK arm of Deloitte and one of its former partners on Thursday.

The Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board accused the firm of falling short of the expected professional standards of objectivity and due care.

The regulator levelled the same complaint against Maghsoud Einollahi, a Deloitte corporate financier who retired from the firm in 2008. The accusations will be heard by an independent tribunal.
