Tallying up the carbon tax costs: LNP pledge

Electricity retailers would be asked to detail the carbon tax costs on household power bills if the LNP won the state election, leader Campbell Newman pledged today.

But Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser dismissed the idea as a stunt unless the bills also detailed benefits of compensation under the federal scheme to reduce carbon pollution.

Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott was drafted in to the LNP's state campaign today, joining Mr Newman in a visit to the Visy Pulp and Paper plant on Gibson Island at Murarrie.
