
Mixed messages and a clash of ideologies is making a mockery of Cameron's boast of his "greenest government ever", says Robin Yapp.
Six months ago David Cameron told energy ministers at a global summit in London that his government had delivered on its pledge to be "the greenest government ever."
But if the claim was received with scepticism at the time, then the events of recent days have made the need for a clearly defined policy to back up such words starker than ever.
Confusion reigns following Conservative Energy Minister John Hayes' remarks that the UK has been "peppered" with onshore wind farms imposed on local communities and the swift reprimand from Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat Energy Secretary, who said "onshore wind has an important role to play in our energy future."
