Navigating ethical eating is hard, but it's worth it

Confused over mackerel, soya or organic food? It's still worth trying to eat ethically

If you’re trying to eat more responsibly - for your own health, for the health of the environment, or both - you may be getting a tad confused.

For years you may have been avoiding cod, which has been overfished to the point of collapse, and eating mackerel instead. Mackerel was considered a win-win for the ethical eater. There was plenty of it, and it was extremely good for us.
