The meeting shall convene representatives from EU Member States institutions responsible for issues of climate change, officials of the European Commission, representatives of the General Secretariat of the Council and special guests. This is the first time that the meeting is hosted in Lithuania. On the first day of event, working sessions are scheduled to be used for evaluation of progress made dealing with international issues of climate change. The second day of the meeting shall provide a summary and presentation of results of the discussions and establish framework for guidelines to be followed by the EU, represented by the presiding Member State during on-going international negotiations on the climate change in 2013.
