More women participation in business stressed


President of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) Selima Ahmed has made a call to women to participate in business so that they can play a vital role in the country's development.

She was speaking at a seminar titled 'Women Entrepreneurs Development' at the Chittagong Club auditorium in the port city Wednesday.

She presided over the seminar while Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury attended the function as the chief guest.

BGMEA First Vice President Moinuddin Ahmed Mintu and Engineer Ali Ahmed were also present on the occasion.

BWCCI Project Coordinator Muniruddin Shamim read out the keynote paper at the seminar.

In her address of welcome, the BWCCI president said as the women community constitutes 50 per cent of the total population of the country, proper development of the country cannot be ensured without their participation.
