
But few have taken steps to protect those who report any wrongdoing
six in 10 listed firms in Singapore have put in place procedures allowing employees to blow the whistle on suspicions over wrongdoing in the workplace such as fraud or the falsifying of company books, a new survey has found.
These employers have told their workers they should feel free to raise these suspicions and they have identified company officials with whom they can lodge their concerns.
However, experts say these steps do not go far enough, as very few firms - only two out of the six - have introduced formalised measures to protect in-house whistle-blowers from reprisals.
