CEO Janet Dolan of Tennant Co. has concluded that smaller public companies are at a disadvantage when it comes to the cost of implementing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Dolan heads a key subcommittee on a 21-executive task force sworn in last week by William Donaldson, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the nation's top cop for public companies. The committee also includes Leroy Dennis, executive partner at Minneapolis-based McGladrey & Pullen, which audits smaller companies nationally.
