BITC - Companies communicate effectively on governance issues

Top UK companies have begun to improve the way they report to shareholders on their corporate governance practices for the first time since the revision of the combined code on corporate governance.

One of the principal reforms to be incorporated in to the new code is the recommendation that companies carry out a regular review of board effectiveness. The new code also asks companies to report on areas such as board evaluation, but also looks to identify more qualitative, company-specific reporting.
