Robert Monks wants us to believe that Dennis Kozlowski had the right to and was capable of running a multinational when he was not even able to control himself. Yet, when he gets caught, he wants to avoid the consecuences.

Dennis Kozlowski, the convicted former chief executive of Tyco, is not a criminal but a victim of the excesses of the time, according to Robert Monks, the pioneering corporate governance activist and former director of the industrial conglomerate.
Mr Monks said in an interview that although he believed that his warm praise of Mr Kozlowski in the past had been misjudged, he would still speak on Mr Kozlowski's behalf if asked. Mr Kozlowski is due to be sentenced next month after being found guilty of grand larceny and securities fraud.
