Business' big boys haven't cornered the market on bad

"Business Ethics -- An Oxymoron?"

I remember reading a course description to that effect as an undergraduate student before thinking, "probably" and moving on to chose another course.

Perhaps that response was flip and thoughtless, but given the amount of ink dedicated to corporate misdeeds, especially since Enron blew up about four years ago, it's likely a common (and misguided) one.

The notion of corporate responsibility is a farce, a dirty punch line to the big business version of the infamous Aristocrats joke. We are all, to a degree, responsible for what's become of business ethics.
