Martin Sullivan was an excellent choice to replace Hank Greenberg as head of American International Group, after the investigations and allegations. He has the style and temperament to take up the reins and I would expect an agreement with the regulators relatively shortly.
His only question mark is his participation in the Starr International, the offshore company which was used to compensate senior executives, including Mr. Sullivan, wiht AIG equity and on whose board he sat. This company continues to control 12% of AIG stock. This issue remains to be clarified.
Hank Greenberg needs to be credited for developing a worthy successor in Martin Sullivan.
