More Companies Tap IT for Sarbanes-Oxley
Companies are increasingly turning to technology in their Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance efforts in order to automate internal controls or streamline their activities, according to new research and interviews last week with corporate executives.
Three of four U.S.-based multinationals will be making extensive use of IT in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance projects this year, according to a survey of 131 corporations by PricewaterhouseCoopers that was released last week.
On the other hand, one-fifth of the companies expect to make no significant technology changes in efforts to comply with the legislation's directives, according to the New York-based consulting firm.
