Ethical rankings recognize performance of WBCSD member companies

Two recent rankings confirm the high performance of WBCSD member companies on sustainability related issues. They account for more than one third of the "2006 Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World", and the "Covalence Ethical Ranking 2005" lists six member companies in the "Best Ethical Progress" top ten.

Global 100: Outperforming the MSCI World Index

"Global companies' performance on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues is rapidly becoming more critical to their competitiveness, profitability and share price," says Matthew Kiernan, Chief Executive of Innovest. "The Global 100 companies showcased here have already demonstrated that sustainability premium, and we believe that they are positioned to reward their investors even more heavily in the future." A benchmarking study that accompanies the list demonstrates that the Global 100 outperforms the Morgan Stanley Capital International Inc. (MSCI) World Index by 7.11%.
