Better laws for better business
CYPRUS should improve its corporate governance if it wants to attract more foreign investment and to upgrade the competitiveness and quality of its corporate sector.
The recommendation was made by Institute of Directors (IoD) yesterday as part of their recent conference.
At its simplest, corporate governance is the system by which companies are directed and controlled.
Founded in 1903, the IoD is a non-partisan organisation with 52,600 members in the United Kingdom and overseas, with membership representing a large spectrum of business. The IoD offers its members advice and services, professional development, networking, and facilities in Brussels
Yesterday’s conference was an effort to invigorate business management in Cyprus by demonstrating the advantages of membership in the Institute of Directors.
