SEC reviews rules for overseas companies
Regulators may revisit plans to make it easier for foreign businesses to withdraw from US stock markets, in response to a European study that suggests the proposals would benefit only a handful of companies.
The European Union review – now being studied by the Securities and Exchange Commission – estimates only 10 per cent of EU companies with a significant presence in US markets would be able to end expensive financial reporting obligations under the proposed reform.
