Canadian Coalition for Good Governance recognizes Canada’s leaders in corporate disclosure
Shareholders are finding out more about the directors of the companies they own according to the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance. To recognize the leaders in this new era of corporate disclosure the Coalition introduced its first award, the Golden Gavel.
"The Coalition is strongly focused on the importance of transparency and exceptional disclosure because this is the only window that shareholders have into the boardroom," said Michael Wilson, Chairman of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance. "This new annual award recognizes the leaders in communication of director information to shareholders and this year's winners have set new levels of best practices in many areas of director disclosure."
The overall 2005 winner is Nexen, followed by honourable mentions for Canadian Pacific Railway, Enbridge and TD Bank Financial Group.
