
Richard Dyson makes comments before attending a Confederation of Indian Industries conference in Chennai
Richard Dyson, the new president of the ICAEW, has spoken of the ‘shared vision’ of both the ICAEW and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India (ICAI).
Mr Dyson’s comments come at a time when India is experiencing exceptional economic growth and a strong demand for accountants.
The Indian economy itself has grown at a rate of 7% over the last five years and is the second largest foreign investor in the UK after the USA and ahead of countries such as Canada, Germany and Japan.
There are also nearly 100 domestically listed Indian companies with a market capitalisation exceeding 1bn, with 12 companies having a market capitalisation exceeding $10bn.
