The role and responsibilities of board directors of financial institutions in the ECCU will be subjected to close scrutiny at a seminar on corporate governance, being jointly hosted by the ECCB and the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange, in St Kitts on 16 Feb.
The aim of the seminar is to sensitise commercial bank directors to the importance of good governance in maintaining financial sector stability and to apprise participants of the ECCB’s guidelines on corporate governance for institutions licensed to conduct banking business under the Banking Act.
The seminar will provide a platform for engaging the commercial banks in discussion of the adoption of best practices on good governance within their institutions.
