Whatever case Mr. Wolfowitz had in his discussions with the World Bank board, he ends up looking very bad with his negotiating an exit for himself, which now appears to be the end of June.
If he needs to go, he should go immediately and not drag this out any longer. We will see what happens between now and then.
Mr. Wolfowitz has shown himself more concerned with himself than with the institution and it is good news that he is going.
Hopefully the anti-corruption baby is not thrown out with the nepotism bathwater.

Paul Wolfowitz is to quit as president of the World Bank following a bitter promotion row involving his girlfriend.
After lengthy talks with the bank's board, Mr Wolfowitz said he would quit the global lending body on 30 June.
He had faced widespread calls for his resignation after being accused of a conflict of interest over a pay rise given to ex-bank employee Shaha Riza.
