Stern announces business ethics initiative

Stern School of Business has announced an initiative to develop and expand research into business ethics with the creation of the Daniel Paduano Faculty Symposium on Business Ethics.

“Our aim with this symposium is to create a vibrant, self-sustaining community of scholars who are dedicated to unearthing substantive issues in business ethics and to advancing a research-based interdisciplinary understanding of these problems,” says Thomas Cooley, dean of the school at New York University.

Beginning in September, research-active professors - Paduano Fellows - drawn from across academic areas and committed to issues related to business ethics , will take part in monthly seminars. Leading scholars in the field of business ethics will head the seminars and the exchange of information will in turn inform MBA classes.

Faculty from across the university’s departments, including economics, philosophy, neural science and psychology, as well as faculty from other universities will take part in the symposia.
